UK visa photo: digital upload rules

For a UK visa or permission you upload a digital photo of your face. GOV.UK publishes the file rules below and no printed size.

• At least 600 pixels wide and 750 pixels tall, portrait orientation.
• File size between 50 KB and 6 MB, as a JPG or JPEG.
• Plain light-coloured background, head, shoulders and upper body visible.
• Plain expression, mouth closed, eyes open and visible.
